No matter where your faith leads you this holiday season, we can all join together in community to experience the symbolic rebirth of the sun. Midwinter, also known as the Winter Solstice, marks the time of the longest night of the year. Winter for us here in Colorado is clearly not over. But we can rejoice in the promise of the growing sunlight and the warmth of days to come.
This Sunday, the 20th of December @ 9 a.m., we’ll join together for Ashtanga yoga with Corinne Andrews. Winter Solstice not only represents the darkest night, but also a seed of something that will unfold in the coming year… open your heart to receive and create with the timeless practice of yoga.
For those of you who have joined us for Ecstatic Dance before, you are in for a treat this time around! (Isn’t it always a treat to let your inner dancer shine through?) We are blessed to have Animus Invidious offer up live grooves to move us into our altered states of awareness, take us on a journey of expansion, and finally lead us back home, into our bodies and into the earth once again. If you’re already @ the studio, please stay for this liberating experience. Ecstatic Dance starts @ 10.
After our bodies move & groove, Darshan will lead us though a Solstice kriya @ 11, followed by our wonderful friends of Om and Garden, Jacob and Jason taking us on a journey through sound healing.
Om and Garden Yoga Studio asks for a $25 love donation for this event. ($10/session). However, as this is a LOVE donation, please join us either way. If you feel so inclined and can offer up what you can afford, we are grateful and deeply appreciate your support.
We would love to share this day with you!
The return of the sun
We’d also like to mention a great event happening from 2-4 @ 2 Left Feet Dance Studio. The 5th annual 108 Sun Salutes for Peace! What a wonderful way to round out your afternoon and early evening, creating sacred energy with your fellow travelers on the path of love!
Love in all ways.
